Shubun-geiko is held on or near the Autumn Equinox. On the dates of the four seasons; the two Solstices and two Equinoxes, the KaZoku Dojo holds a formal waza practice. ** The SBC dojo will meet at the KaZoku Dojo on this day!
January 30, 2009:
SBC Dojo. Cliff Brunetti, and two of his blackbelts; Tim Rogers and Jeremy Ranck, opened a new affiliate dojo at the Sarasota Baptist Church on Proctor Road. Every Saturday morning at the gymnasium; Children's classes will be from 9 am to 9:30, and Adult's classes will be from 9:35 am to 11.

Jikiden. Dedicated to Shodai Soke Okuyama who died November 26, 1987 at 82 years old, Soke and Shihan Chris LaMonica visited and gave us wisdom and knowledge right from the source - there is no higher authority in Hakkodenshinryu, all right here at the KaZoku Dojo! What an awesome opportunity. A dojo Enkai followed, with Rogers-sensei's famous Louisiana seafood gumbo. Thanks to all who made this possible.

Taikai 2009 Our annual group training will be at the Kobaka Dojo in Wooster, Ohio. Many masters will be present to help us perfect our practice of Hakko Denshin Ryu Jujutsu.

Georgia Kenkyukai is a study group that has been formed for the practice and study of Hakko Denshin Ryu Jujutsu. The study group is part of the KaZoku Dojo, and has been spearheaded by Steve Watts of Eastman Georgia. We look forward to some great things happening from there - welcome!

Keiko Hajime. The new year has begun, and so has our training. Tyrrell-sensei visited this past week for training and practice, so we began the new year with a bang!

Hono Embu. An annual closed dojo formal waza demonstration, in honor of the late Soke Okuyama, Ryuho, the founder of Hakkoryu, was performed at the Kazoku Dojo in Sarasota.
November 11 - 16, 2008
Jikiden. Brunetti-sensei flew to the hombu dojo to learn from Soke LaMonica and his many shihan. All Hakko Denshin Ryu waza (Shodan through Yondan) were reviewed and corrected by Soke personally. Everyone at the dojo was so very polite, friendly, and helpful.

Tango-no-Sekku In Japan, a male child became a boy able to begin training in the warrior arts, depending on local traditions, on the fifth day of the fifth month of the childs fifth year of life. Nicolas joined the dojo.
