About Cliff Brunetti

 

   Cliff Brunetti, is a head-instructor of the Hakko Denshin Ryu Jujutsu style - formerly Hakkoryu.

 

     Cliff Brunetti, a practitioner of Hakkoryu since 1985, converted to Hakko Denshin Ryu Jujutsu after attending the 2007 annual Taikai event at the Ohio hombu dojo and feeling first hand the mastery of the techniques and principles in action by Soke LaMonica and his many shihan (masters).

 

     Cliff Brunetti was first introduced to Hakkoryu Jujutsu by Menkyo Kaiden Shihan John Bokeno (now deceased) while stationed at F.E. Warren AFB in Wyoming. Brunetti became a Black Belt in 1987 at the Hakkosen Dojo in Aurora Colorado, with John Bokeno (Menkyo Kaiden Shihan) and Dennis Palumbo (Menkyo Kaiden Shihan San-Dai-Kichu) officiating.

 

      After spending a military tour of duty in Korea as an E.S.T. leader during the 1988 Olympics, Sergeant Brunetti took terminal leave from the military to train and live in Omiya Japan (now Saitama) at the Hakkoryu So-Hombu Dojo with Ni-Dai Soke Okuyama and Yasuhiro Irie (Menkyo Kaiden Shihan San-Dai-Kichu). Once back in the United States, Brunetti opened his first dojo - The Gainesville Budokan in 1990. Moving to Sarasota Florida in 1996, Brunetti founded the KaZoku Dojo (ka-zoku means family)

In January 2010 Brunetti opened the SBC Dojo to the public. 

   

Family and Personal:

     Brunetti is married to Patricia - a dentist (visit Brunetti Dental), and is a father of 4, grandfather of 3.

     Brunetti is a Christian, and attends Sarasota Baptist Church.

     Brunetti holds a MBA in Finance, holds a RDCS, and RVT in the medical field, and is currently preparing to take the CPA (certified public accountant) license test. (Visit Brunetti-accounting).

     Brunetti's hobbies include; reading, art, genealogy, travel, singing in Italian, the art of espresso drinks, pistol and rifle shooting, climbing, camping, scuba diving, swordsmanship, and archery.
